A rabbit who learned safety slowly, and chose stillness as strength.
Minnow is a female rabbit who came to Ahimsa in 2022 after being kept in a small cage and used for breeding. Her world had been reduced to confinement and repetition, with very little space to move or choose.
Her Story
When Minnow arrived, she didn’t rush toward people or seek attention. She watched. Everything about her asked for patience.
At Ahimsa, Minnow was given space, quiet, and the freedom to decide what felt safe. No hands reaching in. No expectations placed on her. Just time.
She found comfort in routine and in the presence of another rabbit resident, Tuna. The two prefer each other’s company over most human interaction, forming a steady, quiet bond.

Today, Minnow lives without cages and without pressure. With a small circle of trusted caregivers, she allows gentle connection always on her terms.
